Guestbook

Cottage is lovely and welcoming. Only request would be a baby gate for back door. I couldn’t leave it open during the warm weather as I have a dog. He absconded once people very helpful to get him home. He became deaf and forgot all recall training
We had a good time

Catherine,

Thank you to Lisa and Marzena for making us feel so welcome in their cosy cottage. We had everything we needed. It's a great location for walks on your doorstep but also if you want to travel to other places for walks which we did. We met a few dog walkers in the village who were very friendly. It was just a shame the local pub had closed down. All in all we really enjoyed our stay! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🐾

Claire,

Lisa's cottage was perfect for our plans. We had something booked in Skipton for the Sunday, and thought we'd make a weekend of it. We do lots of walking and the choices for walking in the area were amazing - we ended up choosing an 18km walk to see Janet's Foss and Malham tarn, which we all enjoyed, especially the dog!

Lisa gave loads of recommendations, and we took her up on the pizza on the Friday night - great pizza that we ordered as we were travelling, and were about 2 mins walk to collect! Then fish and chips from the next door village on the Saturday.

The cottage itself was perfect - very cosy, comfortable bed and sofa, and the kitchen was well stocked. We took our own milk and breakfast stuff, but there was coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits provided. My husband ate his body weight in shortbread over the weekend. There were lovely little touches like blankets for the sofa so that the dog could join us.

Rachel,

We had a great stay. Thank you for your hospitality.

Beautiful little cottage that was within driving distance to the Dales. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Chris,

A good clean well equipped cottage, with all the home comforts should you want them.
The log burner on a chilly evening is an absolute bonus.

Paul,

The cottage has everything you need for a family trip to the Yorkshire Dales and more! Its really comfortable and cosy and everything works well. The hot chocolate station was great for the children, and there is all the information and facilities that you need. Thanks for a great trip. :)

Frances,

Lovely, carefully thought out with added personal touches. Home from home

Nicola,

Lovely cottage , everything you need when you get there , from flavored tea, enough logs for a long weekend , dog treats , hot chocolate making station …and if you needed anything extra there’s a shop right next door , pub 30 secs away ..super clean , off road parking …we had an amazing stay …and would definitely comeback

Nigel,

Everything you need in an extremely clean cottage. I found the road noise a problem as I'm extremely light sleeper and also couldn't get the heater in lounge above 18 5. We don't have central heating at home so wasn't really a problem. Disappointed that the cafe was shut and the pub only doing Sunday lunch but that's not your fault. Chippy was great once open. Loved the log burner. Great base for all the surrounding area. I went back home to Morecambe too. We enjoyed our stay,so did Tilo. Thanks 😊

Julie,

Owners were really helpful. We had a great time

Quinn,

Cosy cottage. Everything you need for your stay. Ideal location for travelling around the area. Immaculate in cleanliness. Beds very comfy so was the sofa. Nice touches with the Hot chocolate station and welcome box of shortbread

Adelle,

Lovely little cottage with everything needed. We only went on a small walk around the Yorkshire dales from the house but next time will be taking advantage of the walks information and will explore further. Unfortunately didn’t get to use local businesses in Hellifield while staying as we had a power cut on the Saturday afternoon but ventured to Settle which was lovely and found nice fish and chip shop for our evening meal.
Log fire was lovely in the evening and made the house lovely and warm

Michelle,

Lovely wee cottage in a perfect location Close to the road and rail line but not too noisy.

Excellent place to go and explore the surrounding area! Would highly recommend (and a lovely box of biscuits too)

Paul & Caroline,

We had a great few days away. The cottage has everything you need and cosy and comfortable. The local pub does really nice food. It's also just a short walk to the train station.

Kamil,

Lovely cottage .complete with everything you could possibly need & very comfy bed.Lovely dog friendly pub less than a minute away with delicious food .very friendly staff & locals

Deborah,

Lovely stay in a pleasant little cottage
Tips for other travellers: Everything has been thought of and the cottage is very well equipped. Only downsides for us were the downstairs bathroom, steep staircase and awkward vehicle access

Andy,

Great little cottage on the edge of the Dales - really well located for accessing many of the prettiest villages and beautiful walks. Lisa was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for nearby places to eat. Just mind you're head on the stairs if you're tall!

Elizabeth,

The location was perfect and everyone around was lovely and made us feel at home. We made friends in a few days of walking our dog. It was peaceful and the host goes above and beyond. We loved our stay.

Talent,

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lisa’s place! Was a perfect location to come back to after our 3 peaks walk. Everything and anything you need has been thought of (from clean linen, extra sofa blankets to a hot chocolate station!). We was so impressed - wish we could of stayed longer! Felt like the place had never been stayed in it was so clean but had such a homey feel. Will definitely stay again when I’m up that way.

My,

We loved the cottage. The attention to detail by the owners is 100%. It is near a very busy road which can be noisy however it didn’t bother us given how ideal the location is to visit nearby places like skipton, grassington, malham and the beautiful Ingleton falls.

Julie,

A very clean well equipped cottage. Great local amenities and friendly locals. Lisa is very helpful and very communicative. Already booked for next year. The Sunday pub carvery is excellent. The chippy is great food and well priced. There are numerous walks from the doorstep. A short drive puts you in the middle of great distance walks and there are often steam trains in the local station

Paul,

Even before we arrived, Lisa had provided us with great local recommendations. Cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we could possibly need. The hot chocolate corner was a lovely edition for our kiddo and we were so close to so many amazing walks in the national park. Would happily again.

Megan,

Great communication from Lisa with lots of recommendation. Cottage had all we needed, and was very well located, a pub and local shop within a minutes walk, and access to Settle, Malham, Skipton, Bolton Abbey within 30 mins. Such a beautiful part of the Yorkshire dales, we had perfect weather and a wonderful time.

Helen,

A lovely cottage, just down the road from friends we were seeing, watching Eurovision - an old tradition. Having H's Plaice, the fish & chip shop just round the corner was great, then grabbing a coffee at Restoration Den. Cottage was very well equipped, and parking bay at front was very useful

Tips for other travellers: Watch your head going up/down the stairs! If you need something (bread, cakes) there is a well-stocked local shop virtually next door. Skipton and Settle, the main towns are about a 10 minute drive away. There is a folder on local information in the living room - useful.

Colin,

Simply Fantastic. The location was excellent, quiet with just amenities close by to not feel too isolated, wonderfully looked after cottage with great attention to detail, i'd recommend it to anyone.

Joseph,

Beautiful cottage- perfect for our stay, all amenities provided. Great location for lots of walks and activities. Accommodation was immaculate and all instructions very clear. Lisa was really helpful and responsive when we had a small question

David,

Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need and added touches to make you feel welcome! Lots of logs for the fire and a great walk only 10min from the cottage. The cottage was warm and great location to access lots of beautiful areas . Hosts were fantastic very response and super helpful. I was left alone to enjoy my holiday but given lots of advice and tips for my trip. Would recommend staying here.

Lindsay,

Comfortable, convenient and good value for money, with a communicative and friendly host and some nice extra touches. Thank you for having us!

Katy ,

A beautiful, cozy cottage. Spotlessly clean & lovely touches, including a great welcome pack. Very well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, lovely bedding & super soft towels. I would say that the cottage is not really suitable for small children or people with mobility issues. The stairs are quite steep & the lack of landing can make things a little tricky . This is by no means a criticism merely an observation. Friendly pub, a stones throw away & a village shop for basics a couple of doors away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will recommend to friends family & colleagues

Debbie Airbnb,

Lovely, clean and warm accommodation. The hosts thought of everything. Very dog friendly and location was excellent as a base for seeing the beautiful countryside

Lisa,

Had a fab stay. Easy check in, great communication. Lovely little touches

Rachel,

Beautiful quirky cottage. Had everything you needed and more. Had such a lovely weekend. Hosts were lovely and very helpful! Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back! Thankyou 😊

Chynna,

Wow! We have had a truly wonderful break at Appleyard Cottage (Just what we needed) Thank you.
Welcome hamper such a lovely thoughtful gift.
Every single thing we needed was here for us
We are going home relaxed and chilled, for the first time in a long time.
We will definitely be back. Thank you for our amazing experience.
p.s. Hot chocolate station is amazing!

Mick & Jill ,

This cottage was a fab place to stay! Very cosy and comfortable, especially for the winter season with the added bonus of a log burner & plenty of firewood. Easy to find and had all essentials you might need and more, we self-catered whilst staying here for 3 out of 4 nights and the kitchen was well equipped, with pots, pans and some added extras. We were grateful for the welcome basket and enjoyed exploring the local area, we would definitely reccommend the Janet's Foss/Gordale Scar walk - even in wet weather, it was well worth the visit. Thanks Lisa - you were a great host, responsive and proactive, and we will reccommend Hellefield and this cottage to our friends and family

Molly,

Spent xmas here, such a beautiful cottage and the log fire made it really cosy, had everything we needed. well looked after and cleaned to a great standard had extras inc. a hot coca counter which was a lovely touch, location was perfect would definitely recommend

Georgia,

Took my sister for a 3 night stay at Appleyard Cottage. What a perfect little place! It really is a beautiful cottage. So much thought and care has gone in to décor and all the lovely little touches. The cottage was really well equipped with everything you could possibly need for both humans and our furry friends. We stayed in the middle of a "big freeze", but were toasty and warm with the wood burning going. It's really central to some beautiful places to walk and explore. Lisa is an amazing host and made the whole trip so easy! We will definitely be returning!! Thank you so much for having us! Katy, Lezli, Coco & Woody xx

Katy Layton-Bennett,

Perfect location for walking and cottage was well equipped with everything you need. Lisa was available anytime we messaged and responded instantly. Cottage is for 4 people but a bit of a squeeze in the sitting room at night. Great log burner and plenty of logs provided. Lovely pub a few yards down the road, with excellent food and service

MC,

Cottage was clean and homely. Lovely touches from the host too such as a welcome treats basket, Christmas decorations and dog accessories like treats and a spare lead. Great location for exploring the local countryside including a train station on the Settle - Carlisle railway. Village had all the amenities you could hope for. Highly recommend

K White,

Amazing cottage, facilities were just wow. Clean, tidy. Had everything I needed. Lisa answered any questions I had and really quickly. Local pub is lovely and friendly. I’d definitely look to stay again

Keri,

Lovely cottage - well equipped. Loads of information about walks in the area

Karen Corner,

The cottage was lovely and everything you can think of was provided for, including treats for the pooches and an unexpected Hamper for us. The location was great for venturing to new places and the Black Horse pub were very friendly with nice food.

The cottage wood burner made the place so lovely and cost and there was plenty of logs and kindling supplied.

There is an entire folder full of well trodden walking routes in the Yorkshire Dales and it was fun making a lucky dip for our next day's exploration!

Every little detail was thought about and we loved it.

Samantha,

Just back from a lovely weekend at the cottage. It was home from home, very cosy, welcoming and stocked up with all the necessities. Lovely bonus of a welcome hamper and dog biscuits. Took our teenage daughters who loved the cottage and the hot chocolate station. Immaculate cottage. Local chippy and pub comes in handy and despite the weather we found loads of do. Would love to come back. Great value for money too. Couldn’t ask for more. Beds comfortable and shower nice and hot. Thank you

Debby Doherty,

Had a lovely few nights stay . Lots of personal little touches in the cottage and everything you could possibly need . Cosy and comfy, perfect for a couple .It’s nice and close to some lovely walks and scenery . The pub on the corner is an added bonus and the food was great . Would recommend.

Lisa ,

Lovely cottage with easy access into the Yorkshire Dales. Perfect for a family of up to four who want to discover the Dales. Compact cottage, but very functional and cosy. Very good host who has thought of everything to ensure you have a lovely visit

Theresa,

Fabulous small cottage, spotlessly clean & good location for exploring Yorkshire Dales. Prompt communication from the owner.

Philip,

Fantastic small but perfectly formed cottage. Really well thought out extra touches. Very considerate and communicative host. Highly recommended.

Fiona,

We stayed at Appleyard Cottage from Friday 23rd September until Tuesday 27th September.
The cottage is immaculately kept and has quality furnishings. Lisa has thought of everything a guest could possibly need in respect of kitchen essentials.
We were welcomed with a lovely hamper and treats for our two dogs, who were also provided with blankets, bowls and toys. There were also lovely toiletries provided. There was an ample supply of logs, kindling and firelighters which made the cottage warm and cosy in the evening. Lisa promptly replied to any queries.
Hellifield is ideal for exploring the area and the village is friendly and welcoming.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to return next year.

Kim Cliff and Alan Cliff,

Comments about this property
We have just had a lovey stay at Appleyard Cottage. Beautiful cozy cottage right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Excellent base for exploring the Dales or just a relaxing break. We made use of the wood burner as the evenings started to get a bit chilly.
Lisa provided a welcome basket and a cute Hot Chocolate Station. Lisa is very prompt at answering any questions and provided lots of tourist information at the cottage.
Tips for other travellers
The cottage is right on the border of the Dales with plenty of places to visit. Lots of walking, waterfalls, stunning sunsets. The Wensleydale Creamery and the town of Hawes was a good trip (Tuesday was market day too)
There is a very useful convenience shop a couple of doors away, very friendly. We had a very nice meal in The Black Horse a minute walk. And also the Old Swan Inn in Gargrave about 15 minute drive

Beverly,

Good information in advance and easy to contact during stay about a minor query. Only problem with location was that it was right on A65 so traffic noise was a bit of an issue.
Tips for other travellers
Very well equipped cottage even to tea bags, coffee, sugar and an assortment of condiments. Good location for exploring dales. Black Horse Good but doesn't serve on Mondays. Chip shop good and reasonably priced but not open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Hazy Days Cafe has recently closed down. Coup le of things to be aware of, parking space outfront is very tight and difficult to maneuver into because of busy road. We parked in the car park round the corner. It is a small cottage with steep stairs and low ceiling so if you are tall or less mobile probably may have difficulties

Pamela ,

Quaint litle cottage located in centre of village. Very homely interior with comfortable bed and settee. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils and crockery and a bonus to have basic store cupboard items too. Log burner was cosy in the cooler evenings.
Tips for other travellers
Ideal for couples, I would definitely recommend Appleyard Cottage.

Janice ,

Can’t recommend this beautiful cottage enough. Exceptionally clean, really well equipped with everything you could need. Beautifully decorated to a very high standard. Really homely. Great parking area right outside the cottage. Great location for exploring the area. Shop, butchers, pub and fish and chips on the doorstep. Great communication from the host Lisa, very helpful indeed.

Diane,

Lovely little cottage in the glorious Yorkshire Dales. We had a super short stay here on our way up to Scotland. The house is very clean and cosy with lovely touches, like a welcome hamper

Alison & Family,

Very convenient location for visiting Lake district and the dales. Enjoyed local walks. Handy to have convenience store and local shops virtually next door. We loved the generous hamper. Well stocked with kitchen equipment and condiments

Sarah,

Just enjoyed a few nights at Appleyard Cottage. It was wonderful. Gorgeous, quaint little cottage in the middle of the village. Extremely clean and tidy. Comfy furnishings and beds. Everything you might need is provided, plus some lovely extras for yourself and also for your doggy. Beautiful walks from the cottage and it's an easy drive to other interesting towns and places. We felt completely at home and we also imagined how cosy it would be in wintertime. Thank you.

Irene,

Had a fabulous stay , the pooch loved it too. Lovely quaint cottage in a gorgeous scenic area. Loads of lovely walks, pubs nearby & would highly recommend to anyone 👍

Adrian,

Lovely cosy cottage in a nice village . Everything you need in the cottage. Close enough to bigger places all accessible by car, bus or train. Ran round the streets first thing in the morning & locals very friendly. Highly recommend Malham Cove, beautiful place & lovely walk . Lots of dog friendly places. Thank you

Alison Mulhearn,

Returned home on Friday after 4 super nights at the cottage. I can honestly say we have never stayed in such a clean and well equipped accommodation before, especially a dog friendly one.
Lisa has been great from booking the holiday to us leaving, communicating information throughout and making sure we were okay.
In the cottage we were greeted with a superb welcome pack for both us and our pooch Peggy. So kind and thoughtful. The cottage itself has literally everything you may need when on holiday. The kitchen was great. So much crockery, glass ware and cutlery. Certainly not the usual four of everything! Also had a teapot! The pantry was so well stocked with essentials from tea, many varieties, coffee and sugar down to the little things like salt, pepper, oil and spices. So helpful knowing you don't have to pack those. Washing up liquid, wash powder, hand soap, cleaning products all there to use if needed.
The bathroom, again spotless, had lovely toiletries provided and toilet rolls too to start you off. The shower was very good, constant hot water and the towels were huge and of great quality.
Upstairs the bedrooms were furnished really well. Plenty of storage and hanging space with lots of hangers too! A hair dryer and hair straighteners were provided, again less things to take. We slept in the back bedroom and with the door closed couldn't hear a thing. The bed was very comfy with lovely crisp bedding and super pillows.
The lounge was perfect for relaxing in an evening. Comfy sofa, footstools, large TV, log burner, which we didn't use but all the wood was provided. Lots of games , books and information left to use. Also which were very impressive, phone chargers!
The little back garden was lovely. Such a sun trap. Throws were also there in case it got chilly.
Like I've said there wasn't anything I could think of that wasn't provided. Lisa has thought of everything even down to a couple of umbrellas which thankfully we didn't need to use but also I'd not thought to pack!
The village is so friendly, everyone spoke. We went to the Black Horse pub and had a super meal. Again such friendliness from the staff to the locals. Peggy was really spoilt in there! We also had a cuppa and cake at the charming railway station tearooms, also dog friendly. A well stocked corner shop and a good quality butcher was also put to good use.
There are great walks on the doorstep and the location very central for visiting many places.
Appleyard Cottage is an absolute treat and we wouldn't hesitate to book again. Looking forward to our next visit.

Sally Lancaster,

Fab little cosy cottage great for exploring the dales. Home from home and beautifully decorated with lovely touches. Great to have the car parking space right outside and a cute little garden at the back. Lovely stay.

Becky,

We have just returned home from a few days away at Appleyard cottage... It was fabulous!! The cottage was immaculate.. it had everything that you could possibly want! A welcome pack for the doggies and the humans!! I can honestly say that it was the best place that we have ever stayed in! Beds are so comfy, with extra blankets supplied,.. A lovely little garden area.. perfect for a BBQ; as we did, with a couple of steaks from the local butcher! Very friendly local pub. All in all, an absolutely perfect stay!! Xx

Susan,

A great place to stay, lovely and clean, comfortable and cosy. A great base for pre and post Yorkshire 3 Peaks and a lovely walk on Sunday morning from the door. The welcome basket was a lovely touch!

Andrea,

Wonderful 4 day break
Cottage beautiful and extremely well equipped.
Friendly and helpful village folk.
Very dog friendly village and surrounding areas.
Skipton woods worth a visit and Malham cove.
Very informative and helpful owners Lisa

Tracey Cutts,

This little cottage is the perfect hideaway.
The hosts seem to have thought about everything you need, from the welcome pack to the beautiful toiletries provided in the bathroom. (The bergamot and orange blossom oil spray was my favourite.
Lisa kept in touch making the whole process stress free. The information she provided prior to our arrival was really helpful too.
Tips for other travellers
We had an afternoon at Hawes which we really enjoyed. And the butcher’s next door but one sells the most tasty bacon and sausages.

C.Grady,

I have just returned from a four night break at Appleyard cottage , just myself and my dog . We had a fabulous stay - comfortable and well equipped with everything you could possibly want . Well located near to a dog friendly pub with a fish and chip shop almost next door . The railway station has a fabulous tea room that is dog friendly - I caught the train into Skipton- loads to do there - canal boat trip , lovely walks in aireville park and around the castle grounds , followed by coffee and a snack in Kibble bakery - which is very dog friendly !
Visited Grassington ( used in All creatures Great and Small ) and walked the singleton waterfall trail - all close by . Lots of recommendations and ideas in the info folders . Communication great - can highly recommend.

Gillian Harris,

We had a lovely stay at Appleyard cottage travelling as a family with 2 young children. Communication from Lisa was spot on with everything we needed and lots of information on places to eat and things to do. The cottage itself is cosy and well appointed with everything you need and lots of extras you don’t normally get with an Airbnb (tea and coffee provided etc). Lisa also left us a welcome basket with treats for us and our dog which was a lovely touch. We visited the pub twice, for lunch and for their Sunday carvery - both excellent, the chippy, hazy days cafe and had pizza takeaway from Balsaminis. All walking distance and great quality. 5 mins walk to the dales and you’re treated with the most beautiful view over the fields. After days out exploring, we lit the fire and chilled out with a movie - just perfect! All in all, a wonderful stay and would highly recommend! Thanks for having us Lisa!

Nicola,

The cottage is fantastically equipped, everything you could want for a self-catering holiday. We also loved The Black Horse pub, the service and food were both excellent. There was so much to do, even just across the road, you can walk into the Yorkshire Dales.

Emily,

We have come back from our second visit to Appleyard cottage. Again we had a fabulous stay, the cottage has every home comforts you need. Highly recommended.

The cottage is very centrally located with attractions a short drive. We visited the Lake District which was only 50 mins away, Malham Cove, Skipton, Grassington which were also a short drive away plus plenty more.

You have a dog friendly pub, fish and chop shop,Butchers, cafe and newsagent all a short stroll away from the cottage. Don’t hesitate to book this cozy cottage you won’t be disappointed ❤️

Vanessa, Paul & Sydney,

Fantastic cosy cottage, the hosts have thought of everything to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The fish and chip shop and the Black Horse are a great resource for the village, food and hospitality was amazing in both establishments. Definitely a place to visit

Helen,

Gorgeous little cottage, a great base for a couple wanting to explore the Yorkshire dales.

Charlotte,

Lovely clean, snug cottage in a brilliant location for exploring the south Dales. As the weather was rather wet and windy we particularly appreciated the generous supply of logs and kindling Lisa left for us. We also loved all the goodies in the welcome basket which was such a thoughtful touch. Thanks for a brilliant week, we will be back!

Ruth,

We really enjoyed our stay at Lisa's place. It was great that all of the little things you could ever need are there: shampoo, shower gel, tissues, kitchen roll, a sponge scowrer etc. Things that a lot of Airbnb's don't provide and we forget to bring. The location is really convenient being right next to the pubs, chip shop and corner shop and the parking on the drive is big enough for a large car. It's a great location to explore the Yorkshire Dales. White Scar caves was a surprise favourite on a rainy day. If you're into Parkrun we did Pendle and enjoyed the run

Mark,

We booked Appleyard cottage at short notice, actually the day of travel, Lisa was very helpful and had the cottage ready for us in such a short time.

The cottage is beautiful, very clean and the small touches made it perfect for our short break. The owners left us some goodies, biscuit's, sweets, lemonade etc not forgetting a bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary.

The communication was fantastic and Lisa also gave us tips where to visit.

We can also recommend the pet friendly pub The Black horse which is only a stone throw away from the cottage. Katherine the landlady made us very welcome and the food was delicious.

We’ve had a lovely weekend and would highly recommend The Appleyard cottage to all my friends and family.

Thanks for letting us stay x

The bed was so comfortable and welcoming, the log fire give us that extra comfort. It was definitely home from home. Everything we needed was on our door step, the locals were lovely and friendly. Definitely a place to return.

Peter,

A great place to stay for up to 4 people and your dog. We loved the effort the hosts went to to provide the extra little things to make our weekend stay comfortable and easy. The whole place was spotlessly clean and newly decorated. It was warm and cosy with the wood burner and perfect for us after a long day walking the hills. Thank you

Neil,

this gorgeous Cottage, hosted by Lisa, is just a delight to stay in. Nestled in the small village of Hellifield on the gateway to the North Yorkshire Dales National Park it is the perfect place to stay to enjoy everything the dales and surrounding areas have to offer. Lisa was an amazing host, she answered all our questions promptly and found us things and made suggestions we wouldn’t have found in our own. We were made to feel immediately welcome with a truly lovely basket of goodies to settle us in. Rest assured the next time we venture to the Dales we will get in touch with her first before looking elsewhere. Thank you for making our anniversary break so easy to be wonderful! Five star recommendation, without a doubt.

Erika,

The cottage was beautiful. There has been a lot of thought been put into what guests might need, we were surprised with a lovely hamper of treats for us and our dogs. You couldn't find anywhere better to stay for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Julie,

We had a lovely week in this cosy cottage! A basket of welcome treats were waiting for us and the cottage was immaculate. The log burner made for some lovely relaxing evenings after a busy day exploring the dales! Would definitely recommend!

Kim,

The cottage was beautiful, well presented and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. There are handy folders to ensure you have up to date and useful local information from walks, bus timetables, cafes and eatery information. The cottage was so clean and tidy when we arrived. Great location for access to the dales. I can highly recommend this stay!

Liz,

The cottage was so clean and comfy with some lovely personal touches for us. Lisa’s communication was superb. I used this cottage as a base for doing the 3 peaks walk, and would definitely recommend it to others looking for somewhere to stay close by for this

Nicola,

Excellent. Made to feel very welcome and excellent location with lots to see and do. Local amenities also brilliant with a really nice local pub. Would highly recommend.

Gavin,

A spotlessly clean, comfortable cottage in a great location. Really beautiful countryside on the doorstep or short drive away. Lisa provided really helpful information about where to go, & check in was super easy. Had a really lovely few nights stay & would love to visit again some time.

Sally,

Excellent value for money. Lovely clean cottage and Lisa thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. No need to cook; there's fish and chips three doors away and the pub, which served good food, only a short walk down the street. The front bedroom is classed as the master bedroom but we chose to sleep in the back bedroom due to the traffic passing through the village on the busy A65. This is the only negative comment about our stay.

Evelyn,

A gem of a cottage in a great location. Sparkling clean with everything we needed for our stay. Lisa was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Mary-Ann,

Lovely clean cottage with all the facilities you could need for your stay. Also dog friendly with little extras from the host such as, dog bowl, welcome pack and guide books . Cosy and comfortable!🙂

Nikki,

Lovely little cottage. Very homely and comfortable. Has everything you need for a short stay. Communication was spot on. Location is a good base to explore local areas. The road is a little busy, making it tricky to pull out from the parking space at busy traffic times.

Diane,

Lovely cottage, clean, smart, nicely furnished. Easy parking and a 20 minute walk to the train station.

Robert,

Stayed for a four night short break in August. Communication from the hosts was great throughout and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. The cottage is perfect. Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Ideal location for exploring the local countryside with walks as well as nice towns nearby such as Skipton and Haworth. The cottage is kitted out with everything you could possibly need including tea/coffee/milk on arrival and the added touch of a welcome basket with a few luxury items in. Towels and bedding are provided along with nice toiletries in the bathroom. There is a fantastic folder showing all the local places of interest, walks, recommendations for places to eat which we found very useful. All in all a lovely place to stay!

Lisa,

Very thoughtful host, high spec interior, with everything you would need and more, including hairdryer and straighteners. Downstairs bathroom, and stairs directly out of bedroom, would mean not suitable for the infirm. Central to the Dales, with a fish and chip shop, local store, and very good pub within 2 mins walk.

Coleen,

We had a wonderful time in this beautifully presented, comfortable traditional cottage. It is perfectly located for adventures discovering the stunning Yorkshire countryside and towns. The welcome hamper and eco bath spa were a wonderful touch after a very long journey there and we felt happy and at home straight away. My little family had a blast and we were grateful for how well-equipped the house is too, including a fan that was so handy in the midst of a heat wave. Thank you Lisa and Mary for providing such a special haven in a beautiful part of the world!

Hannah,

Lovely little cottage located in a great place to be able to explore the dales and the lakes. The cottage had everything you need and we had a wonderful stay.

Rebecca,

Fantastic place .Great Host .Will stay again when in the area

Ben,

Very sweet little cottage, we found it to be super clean and very well equipped. The shower is great and beds really comfortable. It has a nice log burner which will be ideal for winter bookings. The host left a very thoughtful arrival hamper which we loved. There is also a great selection of walking books for the local area. We would recommend the adjacent chip shop and local pubs for dinner, the railway station also has a nice community run cafe. Hellifield is a great location for exploring the Dales.
